Our new drummer, James, has settled in nicely the gigs have been going fantastic and there is lots of new songs coming.
We played at the freebutt in Brighton with two amazing bands, Floors + Walls and Alice!! It was a great show and thanks to everyone for coming down.

There are lots of gigs coming up so hope to see some of you soon. There will be some more Crawley ones announced soon as well.
Also we will be recording again in march which should be great fun!!

Please check out our friend Caitlin Stubbs you can find her page in our top friends. We went along to see a couple of her gigs this week and we were completly blown away. She is a fantastic artist and if you get the chance to see her live then take it because she is amazing and you definatly won't regret it. Caitlin has kindly agreed to come and do a track with us for our new e.p which we are really really excited about.

Important news

Hi all

First things first we just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came to support us on saturday night at charity rock 09. We had so much fun playing the gig and signing c.d.'s for so many of you after!!

As you may know saturday was Mark's last gig with us which we are all very sad about. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for everything he has done for us over the years and he will remain a massive part of the Us & Them family!!

We are delighted to announce that we have found a new drummer. His name is James Reffold he is a close friend to the band so we are chuffed to have him on board. He is a quality drummer and a perfect replacement for Mark.
We hope you will all show him the support you show us at every gig. James cannot wait to start gigging and to meet all of you guys who support our band.

So watch this space for exciting times ahead for Us & Them

Much Love to you all

We have been writing some new songs that we love and are desperate to record. Some of them you will have heard live recently and some completely new ones that you will hear very soon. Hopefully we will be recording in Brighton so that's pretty exciting!!

Sad times

Fans of Us & Them…

It’s been a little while since we wrote you a more serious blog about what were doing. So we felt now was as good time as any.

For the past 2 years Us & Them have grown on a scale that of us expected. We have been thrown onto some of the greatest stages in the South of England and been reviewed by some of the most respected people in the industry. Don’t get us wrong… we love it and in part have you guys to thank for it.

We have thrashed out some our most well known tracks in venues like The Engine Rooms, Concorde 2, The Borderline, the Pressure Point, The Plymouth Hub, The Hawth, to mention but a few.
And we have some of our greatest gigs at places closer to home in the less well known venues like Hazelwick and Dormans.
We are at the stage where gig offerings all over the UK are common place and up until this time we have not been in a position to oblige and spread the U&T vibe much further than the surrounding area.

There comes a time in every bands development when tough decisions need to me made. And it seems this time is ours. Given our development over the past 12-18 months and the locations we are being offered not so infrequently the band have had long difficult chats about availability and future prospects.

Mark, our drummer for the past 2 years and well-known local drummer for the past 4 or 5 years is the oldest member of the band. His job does not allow him as much flexibility and time off that long distance mid-week gigs require, ones that the band so desire and are being offered on a more constant basis. Adam, James and Jack are still in the fortunate position of having jobs that allow flexibility that the ever growing U&T need to ensure continuing growth.

The time has come for Mark to very reluctantly hand over the baton to a new face behind the kit. He doesn’t want to go and believe us he is in no rush to do so but after lengthy talks over the past 3 months has taken the unselfish decision that his departure might (and hopefully will) be the best thing for the ever-developing band. He hasn’t left already and does not plan to leave until sometime in the new year but we have all mutually agreed that the hunt for a new drummer should start sooner rather than later. Mark will continue playing all our up and coming gigs and any future bookings for the time being. The band are still writing fantastic, fresh and exciting new material and are still keen to get into the studio again sometime in the not too distant future. Mark will continue to be a massive friend of the band and we hope, make frequent guest appearances.

Please continue to show your much appreciated support during this difficult time for the band. We are all massively upset that this decision has had to be made but as was said earlier we must do what is best for Us & Them!
We hope we can continue to grow in the way we have been with some pretty exciting stuff planned for 2009 including: loads more gigging up and down the country, a brand new e.p and hopefully a nationwide tour!!

Thanks for the ongoing support and we really do love ya all Keep checking back for more big news soon!

Until then...

Much Love 2 ya all

Plymouth

Hi all

Hope everyone is well!! Just thought I would let everyone know what we have been up to recently so here goes!!

Well last weekend we spent 2 days in Plymouth and we played 2 fantastic gigs while we were there. Both gigs were very successful and we gained a lot of new fans so that was great fun. On the Thursday night we played at a place called the skiving scholar which was fantastic. It was right across the road from Plymouth uni so there was a brilliant crowd and also it stayed open till bout 5 in the morning which lead to some severely drunk members of Us and Them lol. We stayed in a hotel for the night which was rather pointless because by the time we actually got back to our room we only had a couple of hours b4 we had to get up and check out but it was very fun anyway!!
On the Friday night we played at a place called the hub which was also wicked. We played with a band called The Astro Firs check them out www.myspace.com/astrofirs. They are very good!!

We have got some cool gigs coming up! Next Wednesday (24 September) we are playing at the coalition in Brighton which is right down on the seafront. The gig is 16+ and it is free entry. It will be a fantastic night so please please try and make it along and show your support!!

Keep an eye out on the Myspace and Facebook pages for more gigs as there will be more dates up very soon!!

Me and James are working tirelessly at the moment on a load of new songs which we are very excited about so expect to hear some new stuff in the set at our up coming gigs!!

Thanks for all your support and keep chatting to us on the Myspace and at gigs because we are very nice really and we love talking to all you guys

Much Love to ya all

Speak Soon

EP on itunes..

Hi All
Hope you are all well. It's been ages you all got a nice healthy dose of Us and Them news so I thought I would give you a quick update!!
Right where shall I start???
The EP! Our debut EP has been out for about a month now and it seems that it's selling very well, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has bought a copy! We are soooo happy that it is out there and we all really hope that you love it as we are very proud of it. Please keep spreading the word and tell all your mates to buy it. It is available in Shakies in Crawley as well as HMV Crawley and Horsham and Rounders in Brighton. Alternatively you can download it from iTunes (oh yeah sorry I forgot to mention it is now on iTunes although I suppose I just have mentioned it but oh well I'm going to carry .. I start confusing myself!), 7 Digital or TuneTribe.

The gigs recently have been fantastic so thank you to everyone who came down to the Hawth, Concorde 2 or the Bull and Gate in London! We are playing in Horsham on Friday as part of the Horsham Rocks festival, we're on stage about 4.55 I think and the whole things starts at about 2.00 (I'm not sure it this I right so don't take my word for it!). We have loads of gigs coming up as well so checkout the dates and come and see us.
Another cool thing is that we have had an advert in NME twice since the EP came out so that was cool and hopefully will allow more people to hear Us and Them! Our track Why Try seemed to be very well received by the reviewer in NME who compared us to bands like The Cribs which was a big compliment to us!

Anyway I'm going to stop rambling on now before I bore you all to tears! Look out for more updates from the Us and Them camp soon!!!

Love You All

Jack
